Ampere Primus Electric Scooter launched at Rs 1.10 lakh Onwards

Ampere Primus electric scooter is now available for Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India, excluding North Eastern states) from Greaves Cotton-owned Ampere. Bookings have been accepted for this EV since it was first displayed at Auto Expo 2023. The updated Zeal EX e-scooter has been introduced alongside the Primus by the company.

Ampere Primus e-scooter: more details

The new Ampere Primus Electric scooter is driven by a mid-mounted motor with a maximum output of 4kW, and the power is sent to the rear wheel through a belt final drive.

According to Ampere, the Primus, can reach a top speed of 77 kph and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kph in 4.2 seconds. Three riding modes, Power, City, and Eco, as well as a Reverse option, are available on the Ampere Primus.

A 3kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery powers the Primus e-scooter and is said to provide it a range of 107km in Power mode on a single charge.

Despite without providing a specific number, the business claims that the range will be higher in Eco mode. When plugged into a typical 5A outlet, the battery is said to recharge in 5 hours.

A digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and notification alerts via the exclusive Ampere app are among the features offered by the Primus.

Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue, and Buck Black are the four matte colors Ampere offers for the Primus. The base models of the TVS iQube and Ola S1 are in direct competition with the Ampere Primus.

The updated Zeal EX e-scooter from Ampere has also been introduced, with an initial ex-showroom price of Rs 69,900 (applicable only in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand).

The Ampere Zeal EX is priced at Rs 75,000 (ex-showroom) for the rest of the nation. Additionally, Ampere is providing advantages on the Zeal EX up to Rs 6,000 until March 31.

The Zeal EX has multiple ride modes, a 1.8kW motor, and a top speed of 55kph, according to the manufacturer.

It has a built-in 2.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that, according to ARAI, should give it a range of 120 km (5 hours) on a full charge. Stone Grey, Ivory White, and Indigo Blue are the three colors available for the Ampere Zeal.
