Tata Motors partners with HARMAN Ignite Store as an in-vehicle app store

Popular apps like Jio Saavn, TuneIn Radio, and Gaana will be pre-installed on the Harman Ignite Store.

Tata Motors’ choice of the Harman Ignite Store as its in-car app store strengthens their already-strong relationship. According to the requirements of the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS), the Harman Ignite Store complies completely. The automaker’s recently introduced built-in app suite, Arcade.ev, which is accessible in Nexon.ev, will be powered by the Harman Ignite Store thanks to this partnership with Tata Motors.

With the help of Harman Ignite Store, OEMs and developers can create unique and customised driving experiences for their customers while realising profitable digital revenue streams through innovative business models. OEMs continue to have final say over the appearance and feel of the app store, the app catalogue, and the business dealings with end users.

The Chief Product Officer for EV at Tata Motors, Anand Kulkani, discussed the partnership by saying, “Our relationship with Harman allows us to keep consumers connected to the content that is most important to them.” Our new Nexon.ev and Punch.ev cars effortlessly provide that for them thanks to HARMAN Ignite Store.

“We are thrilled to work with Tata Motors and introduce India’s first integrated in-car app store,” Senior Director of Harman International’s Harman Ignite Store Jens Beckmann continued.

In order to meet the growing market presence of Tata Motors, Harman’s R&D and manufacturing facilities in India have been instrumental in delivering state-of-the-art intelligent cockpits and car audio products in India over the past ten years.
