There are two Honda SP160 variants: single disc and dual disc.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the brand-new SP160 motorbike following the popularity of the SP125.
The 160cc SP160 bike, as its name suggests, is built to provide power and performance for everyday commuting.
The tank design of the Honda SP160 motorcycle is matched with aggressive shrouds. The aerodynamics of the motorcycle beneath the cowl further highlight its sporty appearance. The bike is equipped with an LED headlamp and a tail lamp. The 130mm wide rear tire and the chrome-covered sporty muffler give it even more of a sportier appearance.
The OBD2-compliant, mid-size, 160cc Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) engine from Honda, which offers unmatched fuel efficiency and enhanced performance, is the engine at the heart of the Honda SP160.
When the engine is starting and warming up, the engine’s solenoid valve functions as an automatic choke mechanism. It supplies the engine with additional air during ignition and engine warm-up. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) controls the solenoid valve’s opening and closing in response to the temperature of the engine oil and the intake air pressure.
The long stroke of the sophisticated and effective engine adds torque and improves efficiency. The bike’s potent performance is partly attributed to its high 10:1 compression ratio.
Spiny sleeves have been incorporated into the outer surface to improve cooling properties and reduce distortion of the inner cylinder. By using a roller rocker arm, frictional losses are reduced and power delivery is streamlined.
A counterweight balancer also reduces vibrations and makes it easier to accelerate smoothly from low to high rpm range.
Its sophisticated digital meter shows information about average fuel mileage, average speed, average fuel consumption, gear position indicator, side stand indicator, clock, and fuel gauge, among other details related to mileage.
An improved braking experience on public roads is provided by the Honda SP160’s single-channel ABS (anti-lock brake system). You ride with more confidence because it successfully keeps the wheels from locking up in an emergency or on slick surfaces. Overall braking efficiency is increased by the petal disc brake’s efficient heat dissipation. Better control and efficient braking are offered by a set of front and rear disc brakes.
Situated on the cutting-edge, flexible, and durable diamond frame, the rear mono shock suspension is housed beneath the seat. Its wheelbase is 1347mm, longer than average, and its seat length is 594mm. Its ground clearance measures 177 mm.
With a simple button push, you can conveniently switch off the engine at traffic signals and other brief stops with the Engine Stop Switch included with the Honda SP160. It also features a hazard switch, a crucial safety feature that turns on the flashing indicator lights and is essential in low-light situations and emergency stops.
For the Honda SP160, HMSI is providing a 10-year warranty package that consists of three standard years and seven optional extra years.
