Meanwhile, Vinkesh Gulati was named Vice President in tandem.

Veteran of the auto component industry F R Singhvi has been nominated as the next president of the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), the only sector skill council in India. In parallel, Vinkesh Gulati was named Vice President.

After a fruitful two years as President of SIAM and MD & CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, F R Singhvi has been appointed President. Aggarwal was instrumental in guiding ASDC’s expansion during this time.

“I am confident that ASDC’s training will play a pivotal role in supporting India’s youthful workforce in the coming years,” stated outgoing President Vinod Aggarwal, in reference to the organization’s rigorous curriculum and outreach.

F R Singhvi, the joint managing director and co-promoter of Sansera Engineering, has over 39 years of professional experience, having previously worked as a chartered accountant. At the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), he has been spearheading initiatives for many years. He is currently the leader of Pillar 3 programs, which include ACT, HR, YBLF, and Skilling and Mentoring. Additionally, he represents ACMA on the ASDC Governing Council.

“ASDC has grown into a vital institution, significantly contributing to the auto sector through its various skill-based initiatives,” stated F R Singhvi, expressing his excitement for his new role.

“ASDC has built a strong foundation over the years,” said Vinkesh Gulati, the recently appointed Vice President. Among our noteworthy achievements are the E-Bus Up School Capacity Building Program we launched in partnership with GIZ GmbH; our diversification into new markets like EVs, sustainability, safety, and diagnostics; and the updating of our Qualification Packs and curriculum in response to feedback from more than 300 industry experts.”
