The demand for its India 2.0 product lineup, which includes the flagship SUVW Tiguan and the Taigun and Virtus models, has been credited by the company for this growth.
In July 2023, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India reported a 31% increase in sales compared to July 2022. The company attributes this to the tremendous demand for Taigun & Virtus, the flagship SUVW Tiguan, and other products in its India 2.0 product portfolio.
Volkswagen debuted two new models in the first half of the year: the eagerly awaited GT Plus Manual on the Virtus and Taigun and the GT DSG on the Taigun & Virtus. Additionally, the brand unveiled its limited-edition GT Edge Collection.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, commented on the performance, saying, “The Taigun & Virtus’ ongoing popularity is a testament to Volkswagen India’s growth path.” Our brand has earned the unwavering trust of our customers by providing them with the safest range of German-engineered vehicles that are enjoyable to drive.
The brand’s network strategy has expanded its reach in recent months, gaining traction not only in the product portfolio but also in the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Telangana, and Delhi NCR. There are currently 175 sales and 130 service touchpoints in the network, and more are planned for this year.
